Bethany Christian Services, the nation's premiere family preservation agency, believes that when a child is hurting anywhere in the world, we all suffer. Bethany works around the globe to keep families together.  More than 88% of the world's orphans have a living parent----yet they are under the very real threat of losing their remaining family due to extreme poverty. Through Bethany's One Familysponsorship model, partners like you can make a difference in the lives of these vulnerable children and their families. We are pleased to announce that our Indianapolis office is rallying people in your area to partner with Bethany through One Family to help vulnerable children and families of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
This focused Indiana initiative to serve the children of Addis Ababa kicks-off with a team traveling to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, April 14-22. Members of the team include New York Times bestselling author Mark Tabb, and Colts Super Bowl winning offensive tackle and three-time NFL Pro Bowler Tarik Glenn. The team will return with pictures, video footage, and testimonies to share with the Indianapolis community through a series of One Family Sundays hosted this summer and fall at area churches. Linda Wrestler, director for our Indianapolis location, shared that it is her hope your community will step into this commitment and make a huge impact in the lives of these vulnerable children and families in 2013. The primary objective is to provide critical support to the children of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. There are 840 vulnerable children awaiting help from Bethany through One Family in Addis Ababa right now. Would your church be willing to host a One Family Sunday? Will your family become a family preservation partner and help these children remain safe with their families?
Through sponsorship partners like you, Bethany is able to provide individualized care to the children and families we serve. Our social service workers and in-country partners are focused on providing a holistic approach to create sustainable solutions and empowering opportunities for these families. That may mean skills training for the living parent or caregiver, school preparation for the children, providing for medical requirements, food, clean water, and other basic necessities, as well as meeting their deeper needs through counseling by Bethany trained workers.
