An Alternative to Elf on the Shelf, The Christmas Angel. Teaching the true meaning of Christmas.

A friend of mine just shared this, and I wanted to share it too: "The whole "Elf on the Shelf" thing has always bothered me. I tell my kids God is watching them. Someone mentioned that there is now a Christmas Angel that comes with gold dust & a book." If anyone wants to look into it here's the link:http://www.yourchristmasangel.com/products-page/

From the Christmas Angel website:
"What an amazing opportunity we have as parents to instill values and principles into our children. The Christmas season is about a precious story to celebrate a gift that none of us deserve, but have an opportunity to receive. The birth of Jesus is the greatest example of love. So how can we show the same love to others? Simply by putting others before ourselves. We should help our children focus on giving rather than receiving, for that is the true spirit of Christmas."

Help Support Cub Scout and Boy Scouts. Buy Yummy Treats or Have Some Sent to our Military Overseas!

As some of you already know, my family is heavily involved in Cub and Boy Scouts. We have two older boys in Boy Scouts, a middle son in Webelos Scouts and another younger son in Cub Scouts. I am also a Den Leader to two dens and volunteer in many other scouting activities. I truly believe that it is one of the best programs available to young boys/men and their families.

Right now begins the annual popcorn and treat sales. Much like Girl Scouts and their cookies, Boy Scouts sell popcorn and treats to raise the funds to keep the program running. We are a volunteer based organization and depend completely on the money raised through popcorn sales to support the program and activities offered each year.

Would you please consider making a purchase to help support these programs. If you do not need any popcorn or treats for yourself, we also offer an opportunity to make a military donation. This allows you to make a tax deductible donation that allows Boy Scouts of America to send popcorn, treats and other items to our military overseas, while the local Scouts also receive funds to run their program.

You may learn more, buy popcorn and make military donations byClicking HERE.

The link above does take you to one of my son's accounts. It will say supporting Jacob O. This will allow me to verify that all funds raised gets appropriately distributed to our local Council. I will not be able to see any of your personal info.
